Today was the perfect fall Saturday. It was in the 60s so Nina sported her mushroom turtle neck to the farmers' market. All of Durham was there, including Nina's buddies Abby, Sofia, and Zoe. It was cool enough to snuggle up in the baby backpack, I wrapped my sweater around the Bean and she nuzzled her nose in my neck. Landon stocked up on goat. Nina tried orange colored watermelon, it was yummy and she carried around the rind for a half hour.
We watched the flamenco dancers at Centerfest. Having a wee one is an excuse to sit in the front row, it was amazing to see the Spanish women at foot level. Their arms curled like cigarette smoke while their black heels tapped furiously.
Then it was time for us all to take a two hour nap. We tried Chubby's, Durham's new taco spot, but I still prefer Los Comales or even Cosmic.
Now I'm babysitting Sofia with a 4 lb bag of trail mix, a beer, cable TV, and the Internet. I miss the Coxes but solitude and snacking is a treat.
